mono sound is good enough and you can run this song through two amps. I still recommend you to have at least one tweed amp with well broken speaker and the tubes.

sometimes, words are like the windows through the history and culture. now I see why we keep seeing the white witches and wizards who are the symbols of wisdom on the movies. and why we have the similar names from the western culture.
I started this build on my personal blogspot blog. then I moved whole the articles on slowbean. I might want to arrange them into one single thread later.
it’s my yokomo Hotdog4 built from YR4 kit with some Works bits, along with Yokomo Esprit stock motor. I’m working on the new shock towers.
MX4 rear CVD bones fits perfect for ’91 through ’93 Works. Hotdog4 has the same arms. and you guys can see the result. the length is same with post ’94 yz10 rear cvd bones.
5F6A came with two, maybe slightly more different versions. V2 cathode bypass cap and tone stack are the differences. I’m trying both of the versions
I’ve tried a few long plate 12ax7 tubes like black plate RCA, one of the common Telefunken, gray plate Sylvania with copper grid posts, and this one. Telefunken sounds great with 5D3 but ain’t good with my original and recent 5F1 amps.
this Tung Sol sounds like Telefunken with a modern 5F1 has Heyboer HTS-12005 PT. this PT’s B+ is over 400V with usual 5y3gt tubes. and this 12ax7 sounds great with the original 5F1 to me. grabbed off Reverb.com for $24
all the black plastic parts have changed with vintage correct white ones. this Joe Bonamassa burst #70 has beautiful top and dark back with ’59 profile neck and Burstbucker #2 and #3. the orignal 50’s burst Les Paul guitars mostly had 7.5k to 8.4k pickups and many of them had hotter ones on the neck position.
Gibon’s burstbucker was made after the original PAF pickups which had unbalanced bobbins. I’d put #3 on the neck and #2 on the bridge. personally the best PAF replica was Timbucker from Tim white I got at 2003 with my Brazilian freboard 59 historic. and, at the time a few friends on Lespaulforum.com tried Seymour Duncan Custmop Shop PAF replicas and it was a great pleasure to listen them.
The same Duncan Custom shop PAF pickups are coming for this Les paul. and I believe he’d love them over burstbucker pickups
more vintage correct parts like truss rod cover and square jack plate are coming as well.
